Floral belly

navy jersey leggings: aa
short sleeve gray button up cardigan: f21
floral drawstring ruffle tank: thrifted
creme ruffle racerback tank: gap
tassle boots: aldo

It just came across me when I looked at this photo- the top is not very flattering around the middle. There's a side-tie draw string that can adjust the tightness around just above my hips. I'll work on that detail next time I wear the top.

New discovery

Well I have been sick in bed all day. Days like this are usually wasted into online shopping frenzies.
I bought a skirt, belt and the brown shoes from the last post. Shhhh.
I watch movies. Usually Harry Potter, High School Musical, You've Got Mail or, like today, Phantom of the Opera.
I look through a lot of blogs, Lookbook and Chictopia. I last time I discovered TopShop

Today I stumbled upon ASOS. It's amazing!! Here are a few of my favorite finds:

My next paycheck

$40!!
I have been searching everywhere for an affordable style- and it was at Alloy all along! How could I be so stupid? And to think I was half considering dishing out $80+ for some NIne Wests. Consider these MINE!
I can't choose- I'm leaning toward the first ones.

deep v tee shirt: delias
salmon 3/4 cardigan: gap/thrifted
too too low skinny jeans: levis
boots: you know where. aldo
blue dangle earrings: gift from sister :)

Sorry about that down-the-shirt mishap. Wish I had a better picture.
I'm feeling my recent gifts of jewelry. Thanks, sis!

Splash of pink

black button up cardigan: gap
pink/salmon babydoll tank: f21
distressed black jeans with side zipper hems: old navy
brown bootie heels: marshalls!

I'm so into all black with a splash of color. I need to mold my wardrobe toward this concept.
The sad thing about this outfit is–I wish I wore something like this every day. But tonight was a special occasion. So when I dress normally-- this is what I should wear. And when I really dress up, I should wear something even nicer.
I had dinner out with my boyfriend then we went back to watch the rest of the game- SHARKS WON!
I still really want to see Witch Mountain. Did anyone see it??

Exhausted editor

So I am the editor of a student newspaper and I am usually run-down by it. I spend my life in the newsroom and whatnot.. anyways– I left the newsroom late (not as late as some other people who ended up going to a bar haha) and went to my boyfriend's. We were wrestling or something.. I always end up on the floor and he drags me by his legs that I am clutching on to. This night, however, I was pooped and ended up on his kitchen floor while he was frying eggs for a sandwich. Here I am, how pathetic:

Winter legs

denim button up dkny dress: thrifted
white moccasins: thrifted

The outfit is a little too simple and one dimensional to be "fashionable," it was too hot to wear the green cardigan!
This is my favorite summer dress- too bad it stretched by the end of the day- I love the way it hugs my body when it's fresh out of the dryer.
Excuse the rosy cheeks- it was 85 degrees today! This heat wave is so out of the blue and I absolutely love it. I love fashion- but the less clothes I have to wear- the better!!!
I need to find some new ways to make my outfits look exciting and not so boring. Any ideas appreciated- what do YOU want to see?

I bought AA's circle skirt- I love the look and it works for me, but I think the skirt is too loud to wear outside of work. I haven't worn it out so I'm going to exchange it for something a little more... modest? Love the over-the-knee socks.

New boots! Got them on sale at Delia's for $40! Holler. They sit just below my knee so I've worn them with thigh high socks + shorts and shiny leggings to work. Sorry I haven't got a better photo. As soon as they arrived at my doorstep I took a quick shot in my jammies. A little bit of leg never hurt anyone. : )

Indian rocker guest

shirt: urban
leggings: REI
shoes: aldo
necklace: some fair
hair: DYED
boobs: NATURAL

I feel INDIAN!
I am 100% against leggings as pants but sometimes thats all you want to wear

-jbo

Well I think this is way more Rocker than it is "Indian," but I love it for a Norcal girl reppin' in da SoCal. JAY PLAY.
As for the outfit- I absolutely love Aldo shoes! And as much as we all claim we deny legging used for pants- they are just so convenient. Oversized shirts are the best match to make the tight leggings look less scandalous on the gluts. Agreed?
Thanks for sharing with me, jbo!

Overload

I know, I know... too many posts in a small amount of time. But one of my constant complaints is making me pray for a decent pair of black denim skinny jeans. I don't want no acid or frilly wash. Just a simple pair of skinny leg, low rise, BLACK pants.
This blogger prompted my frustration. So damn cute!

Marc finds a face

Anne Hathaway for Marc Jacobs? Yes please!
This photo I nicked and a wonderful and helpful article from W Magazine can be found HERE.
Why am I always the last to know about this kind of thing?

Out of the loop

Am I the last person in the world to learn about
"Go Fug Yourself??"
This blog is HILARIOUS! All of celeb fashion DON'Ts with witty commentary!
I might never get off the blogs again!

Spring break!

So I went to a few parties in SF during my spring break before I was off to Arizona.
Here are some party pictures I salvaged into fashion photography- so sad, I know.

Everyone has to pull off this look at some point- band-bad-ass-could-care-less-rocker chic!

I love that my two best friends are wearing almost the same dress in two different ways. The girl on the left wore her hair carelessly down with white high-top Chucky T's. THe girl on the right pulled her hair back in a polished bun, intelligent eye-make up and classy black flats.
I LOVE the two personalities and the different fitting outfits to match!

As for me...

I went a little crazy with some crazy dress I found in the back of my closet and my "everyday" boots. The braids in my hair are hard to see- but they really helped with that exotic feel the dress exerts. I originally went with grey tights, but some girl power kicked in and I went bare legged! Love it!

Feeling 50's

white v-tee: hanes
black tights: aa
jean jacket: fourth grade
purple pattern scarf: target
white moccasins: thrifed

I just bought the circle skirt from AA and am feeling so 50's lately. I love bringing out the jean jacket when the weather is appropriate. Can't wait to show you guys the new buys from AA- you'll love them. Hope the weather keeps up.
One of my elder male friends think some "nice stilettos would really complete this outfit."
I beg to differ :P
Maybe some backless wedges and I could be a rebellious Sandy :)

outfit:
sea foam shirt dress: aa
tri-blend blue button cardigan: aa
grey tights: delias
white leather loafers (?): thrifted
would you call those loafers or moccasins? they are too structured and formal to be moccasins to me..

I'm trying to stay away from what is seen as "typical" ways to wear american apparel clothing to work. I made a bunch of new employee purchases that you will see in the next few weeks. I'm off to Arizona next week and excited about 80 degree weather. I love San Francisco, but it can still be a little too cold for me.
American Apparel is sending our store new arrivals, including a red plaid oversized see through tee shirt. I haven't found it on the website yet so I will sneak a picture next time i work. We are also getting these:

I'm so excited for.. SUMMER!
