Fancy French Cologne
I have been waiting and waiting for Fancy French Cologne to come out with their online shopping site, and they have!
Luckily I got a sneek preview and wanted to share with you the adorable items coming soon to FancyFrenchCologne.com
Why am I suddenly interested in online shopping again, you ask?
Haven't I always just looked at F21 and OU online, but really only shopped at American Apparel because I work there? Wrong.
Fancy French Cologne is owned by two SF girlies that were in a bitchin' band, Finest Dearest.
When I heard they were coming out with a clothing line, I was like "THESE GIRLS RULE!"
Let me give you a peep of what I already have saved in my Wishlist
The Salt + Pepper Blazer has super cute details, nice urban looking sleeves, but it totally still tailored-
hence urban chic!
A Sweater Blazer, why haven't I seen this before? Two staple items in my closet combined in one item!
No more pairing cardigans under Blazers to get the comfort and the structure. This is all-in-one! Gah, love!
Dark Olive Messenger Bag- aren't we always looking for the perfect bag?
But wait- this one is made of 100% man made materials. Even better!
And now, if I were to dress in all black (God forbid!)
I could still have a floral element with this adorable Ashley Clutch.
You know I don't go anywhere without some floral, pastel or grandma-esque item. Problem solved.
So at this point you're all like, "uhh... Erin, why haven't you mentioned anything about the girl in these pictures?"
Silly me! My sister, Nicole is one of the models on the website. Isn't she cute?
Anyyyway
Miss you guys, more soon!

Hey all,
Just got home from my trip to visit a friend in Long Beach.
Can't wait to share my adventures with you.
Spotted Liv Tyler in Hollywood, took a tour of the American Apparel factory and got a lot of beach time in.
Lots of outfit posts soon (I didn't have to wear AA head to toe for five days! Are you excited!?!?!!!)
But for a sneek peek, check out the lovely ladies I met at a trip to the Getty: WeLuvLosAngeles

What was the best show/concert you attended in 2009?
Ah, 2009 was a good year for concerts. I really don’t think I can pick just one! Here’s a few:
- Miike Snow & Esser at Popscene
- Band of Horses at Outside Lands Festival was MAGICAL
- The Matches last show at The Fillmore
- Fanfarlo at Schuba’s in Chicago
- Dirty Projectors at Bottom Lounge in Chicago
- The Gaslight Anthem & Good Old War at Bottom Lounge in Chicago
What show/concert are you looking forward to in 2010?
Ooo, so many! But I’m definitely looking forward to catching the Magnetic Fields on tour early this spring.
What are the top 5 most played tracks on your itunes?
1. “Chelsea Hotel No. 2” by Leonard Cohen
2. “Just Like Heaven” by The Cure
3. “Boxcars, Boxcars, Boxcars” by Street To Nowhere
4. “Kids and Heroes” by The Bouncing Souls
5. “Red At Night” by The Gaslight Anthem
From what artist are you dying for a new track/album?
I would love to hear something new from The Helio Sequence. I’m also really looking forward to hearing what Audrye Sessions has been working on as of late. And I can’t wait to see what Local Natives and A B & the Sea release in 2010.
HOLD UP- Wanna give any quick shout-outs? :D
I jus wanna say HOLLA to mah gurlz…Y’all bitches knows who you is.
What is the inspiration for your style?
Concert-goers, San Franciscan architecture & people, Mad Men, bejeweled thrift store finds, cyanotypes, TULIPS, crayons with abstract names, Oakland attitude, retro jewelry/accessories, and I’ve been all up in Jason Wu’s grill on style.com
Also a hodgepodge of strong, confident women: Zooey Deschanel, Rita Hayworth, Patti Smith, Natalie Wood, the 90s version of Gwen Stefani, Karen O, Emily Haines, my best friends, and all the women in my family
Love this blog: vanessa jackman
This one, too: because i'm addicted
What is your recent "default" outfit?
Fitted, dark jeans, black boots, basic shirt, cardigan/structured blazer, and some kind of eccentric/bold necklace or earrings to spice things up.
What is your quick fix to dress up an outfit?
A smile and a little shimmy. I honestly believe that confidence is the best accessory for any outfit and a smile or a strut is the quickest way to show that off. That or a chunky, vintage necklace!
HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH THE CHICAGO WIND?
Oh lordy. The wind in Chicago can be quite the trickster.
Here are some quick tips:
- Accept the fact that your hair is never going to stay the way it looked when you left the house
- Imagine the wind is a fan and you’re a model strutting down a runway…it makes it more enjoyable
- Gauge the intensity of the wind by looking out your window at flags, trees, people on the street, etc. before leaving
- Sunglasses are a great investment to protect your eyes
- DO NOT WEAR A FLOWY DRESS/SKIRT WITHOUT SOMETHING BESIDES YOUR UNDIES UNDERNEATH! Invest in some cute tights, leggings, or at least some booty shorts if you still want to show some leg
How do you feel about hats?
LOVE. They can suppress frizzies, add a pop of color/texture to any outfit, or protect my head in less than desirable weather. I typically opt for little knit caps or berets, but more power to the women who can rock a bold fedora or a large, floppy, 70's earth mother hat!
What was your favorite holiday gift this season?
Perfume! I got Lola by Marc Jacobs.
What was your new year's resolution?
Explore the world a bit more and meet new people.
And also to update my blog on a regular basis (and stick with it!)
Why are you such a goofball (lol!!)?
HAHA. Your use of the word “goofball” has got me giggling!
I love smiling. I love laughing. I love to make other people laugh. I’ve been through a lot of difficult things and had a lot of , so I made a decision a long time ago that I wasn’t going to waste this life being sad or angry. Instead, I make sure that everyday I dance, I sing, I learn something, I smile, I enjoy the beauty in everything, and I go a little crazy.
Well, that and the fact that I grew up intensely admiring teenage boys from classic 80's movies and ska bands probably boosted my goofball rating quite a bit. HA
All photos featured in this post belong to Danielle Heinson.
I've known Janell for a long time, no doubt.
Her simple outfits are always dressed up with color combinations
& her dressy outfits are always sophisticated and polished.
Lately I've been desperate for color in my outfits and she is the perfect inspiration.
Notice her use of colorful accessories or the way she dresses louder items down to fit her look.
Plus she makes bomb playlists! Check it out!

The movement against bimbos
"How many times have you heard a guy say his ex-girlfriend is crazy, an airhead or psycho?
Maybe if you men took note of certain indicators pointing to crazy, airhead or psycho, you wouldn't end up in a blunder of bad relationships making you quiver just thinking about them.
Never trust a girl who:
Has children who call you Daddy upon the first meeting. Clearly she told them you're the new father. Prepare for a phone call from Maury producers if you keep it past date three and then try to break it off.
Says she's over her ex-boyfriend...of last month. No way. They dated for how long she said? Two years? You're definitely the rebound. She's trying to get over him and make him jealous by posting status updates all over her Facebook about you; followed with a thousand hearts.

You mention that you don't want a commitment right now, but want to keep that "special something" you two share in which she sheepishly agrees. Right.
Don't for a second believe she didn't already think of you as her boyfriend in her head, plan on introducing you to her friends and family as well as formally announcing herself "in a relationship;" on social networks that is. Prepare for a Fatal Attraction bunny boiling bitch in your kitchen; don't keep someone around who isn't on the same page (signs pointing to the end of a romance novel? A deeply hesitant "oh, me too," and an unsuccessful try at concealing teary eyes).
She scares all the children at one of your family gatherings with an unasked for re-enactment of the monkeys in The Wizard of Oz. As they run, so should you. That's not normal.
She knows everything about you before you told her. Thank Facebook. She should be as surprised as Macaulay culkin when he is left home alone as you tell her you're a Texan native fresh out of the Peace Corpes.
Laughs at everything you say because she has a "morbid" sense of humor. Sure, knock knock jokes are funny but not your missing dog. No one isthat soul-less.
Her entire TiVo history is nothing but The Hills and The City. Ask her who our vice president is.
The last book she read was Cosmopolitan.
She checks herself out in toasters, knives, black computer screens and the back of your iPod. The nerve. She cares more about herself than your existence as she throws her coat on you before dinner mistaking you for a doorman.
She thinks your paycheck is her new Coach purse. Life is not a Coach purse honey; get a job and stop being so tasteless.
You've never seen her eat. Everyone eats. Don't fall for the: but I have a weird condition, I don't eat food, I just drink water. She is a liar. Invite her on a camping trip and see how long she goes before passing out.
Whatever reason you keep crazy pants around--maybe she's good in bed or she's pretty to look at--it's not worth having to change your phone number and join the witness protection program when things go awry. Trust me."

Plan your week according to icing
Thursday 10th December
Have a Japanese feast! Invite a friend over to make sushi if you’re so inclined, or if you tend to be more disaster & less DIY when it comes to the kitchen, order from your favourite Japanese restaurant. Eat cross-legged on the floor while watching a great movie. Battle Royale, Ichi the Killer or Kamikaze Girls are all excellent choices!

Glam it up

aldo textured tights layered on top of grey tights
f21 headband; mac's russian red
I have been shopping for myself.. and a little bit for others :)
Love it. Love the holidays. Love the lipstick.
Someone said this headband was very "Blaire" from Gossip Girl.
I should really start watching that show because minus the lame drama-
it displays some impressive fashion!
Ignore the messy hair... I'm on it.
Did anyone watch this on Thanksgiving? IT WAS DIVINE!

MEN
Life recently posted the sexiest men of the 50's, 60's & 70's. Here are a few of my favorite photos.
Feast your eyes!:
Kirk Douglas
He gave us the sexiness I name Michael Douglas- thanks, Kirk.
Plays a great cowboy in "El Dorado"
Steve McQueen (with his wife)
Who said marriage can't stay sexy?
He was sexy in his youth. Now I guess he's funny. I'm always on the lookout for my very own Danny Zuko.
(Am I comparable to the great Sandie? Maybe. I can be a little bad.. wear some zipper high-waisted leggings..)
Gene Kelley
Countless favorite musical performances- "Summer Stock" is one with Judy Garland (♥)
Does black and white photography one up the sexy factor? I'd like to say yes.
Who will be the sexiest men of our generation?
Plz don't JUST say Robert Pattinson.
I promise, I will post fashion soon. School= drool.

My next paycheck

$40!!
I have been searching everywhere for an affordable style- and it was at Alloy all along! How could I be so stupid? And to think I was half considering dishing out $80+ for some NIne Wests. Consider these MINE!
I can't choose- I'm leaning toward the first ones.

This photo I nicked and a wonderful and helpful article from W Magazine can be found HERE.
Why am I always the last to know about this kind of thing?
Out of the loop
Am I the last person in the world to learn about
"Go Fug Yourself??"
This blog is HILARIOUS! All of celeb fashion DON'Ts with witty commentary!
I might never get off the blogs again!
